Quality improvement of systems for a major bank

Until now, I have mainly been involved in the development of communication systems and web applications. Recently, I became involved in financial operations, and although I struggled with the many terms I did not know, I found it interesting to increase my knowledge as I worked while researching. I think it was a good experience for me to learn completely different business knowledge and technologies while belonging to the same company.

As early as my first job in my first year with the company, I was given the opportunity to be involved not only in design and programming, but also in the entire process from start to finish, up to the release of the product. I was able to get a sense of accomplishment by being involved in the entire process, which would have been difficult to get if I had only been involved in one part of the work. I think the fact that I was selected as one of the "Engineers Leading Software Development" in the "Embedded Software Report" edited by the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan, is proof that I was able to grow in our company's environment.

I am currently involved in the development of a review system for the pharmaceutical industry. When I joined the project, the application development itself had already been completed and was in the testing operation stage. My job is to add new functionality to the existing system and, in some cases, to deal with problems. Specifically, I am in charge of everything from designing my own modifications to programming and testing, and I feel that this is an environment in which I can learn a lot.
